Cover Shift & Marketplace Terms

1. What a cover on Pass is
A cover is a short engagement between a venue and a hospitality worker. Pass introduces the two sides and records what was agreed. Pass is not the employer, a staffing agency, an employment agency or employment business, and is not a party to the engagement.
2. Pass never handles money
The venue pays the worker directly under the venue's own payroll or contractor process. Pass does not collect, hold, escrow or disburse wages, tips or fees for shifts, and takes no percentage of any worker's pay. Pass earns revenue only from subscription fees paid by venues.
3. What the venue commits to
Pay the listed rate for all hours worked — and in the UK never less than the National Minimum or National Living Wage — on the venue's normal pay cycle and no later than required by law. Provide a lawful, safe workplace, required breaks, and any equipment or PPE the role needs, meeting (in the UK) the Working Time Regulations 1998, the Health and Safety at Work etc. Act 1974 and food hygiene law. Classify and onboard the worker correctly, and complete any right-to-work or eligibility checks the law requires — in the UK, under the Immigration, Asylum and Nationality Act 2006 — before the shift starts. Confirm or dispute the shift record honestly after the shift ends.
4. What the worker commits to
Turn up on time, fit to work, with the certifications and legal right to work claimed on their profile. Follow the venue's reasonable instructions, food safety rules and confidentiality expectations. Give as much notice as possible if they can no longer make the shift.
5. Cancellation
Either side may cancel before the shift starts by notifying the other through Pass. Repeated late cancellation or no-shows are recorded on the account and may end access. Pass does not levy cancellation fees and does not act as a debt collector between the parties.
6. Verified shift records
A shift becomes verified only when a member of the venue confirms it. Workers cannot confirm their own shifts. Confirmed records are shown publicly on the worker's profile; unconfirmed and disputed records stay private. Confirmations are statements by the venue, not by Pass — Pass does not independently audit them and provides no warranty about any worker or venue. In the UK you can ask us to correct personal data in a record under UK GDPR, and either side may add a written response to a disputed record.
7. No employment relationship with Pass
Nothing here creates an employment, agency, partnership or joint-employer relationship between Pass and any worker or venue. Each side is responsible for its own taxes (including, in the UK, National Insurance), insurance and legal obligations.
8. Disputes between the parties
Pay, conduct and performance disputes are between the venue and the worker. Pass may remove content, restrict accounts, or annotate a record, but does not arbitrate or guarantee outcomes. Report a serious issue to hi@getonpass.com.
